Tree Services in Apex, NC
We live and work here. Apex Tree Company is based just outside Cary and most of the jobs we run every week are inside Apex city limits. That changes what the work looks like compared to a crew driving in from somewhere else.
Apex is a permit town. Plan for it.
Apex has one of the stricter residential tree ordinances in Wake County. Any tree six inches or more in diameter requires a tree removal permit before it comes down. Development projects need a tree survey of everything 8" caliper and larger. Grubbing stumps, burning debris on site, and burying tree waste on the lot are all prohibited by the ordinance. Invasive species are exempt from the permit requirement.
What that means for you: do not let a tree service tell you they can "just come take it down." If the tree is 6" or more and it is alive, there is paperwork. We provide you with the necessary form and documents in order to submit the application, the site plan, and the arborist statement if one is needed. Jonathan Gallant is the ISA Certified Arborist on the paperwork.

Our certified arborists use industry-leading techniques to maintain the health and safety of your trees while enhancing your landscape.
Regular tree maintenance is essential to keep trees healthy and safe. We recommend annual tree inspections and pruning every 2-3 years, depending on species and growth. Cary’s climate can impact trees, so proactive care helps prevent damage from storms, pests, and diseases.
In some cases, Cary homeowners may need a permit for tree removal, especially if the tree is protected by local regulations. Our tree removal experts can assess your tree, determine if a permit is required, and help walk you through the process to ensure compliance.
If you notice dead branches, leaning trees, visible decay, pest infestations, or sudden leaf loss, it’s time to call Apex Tree Company. Our tree health assessments help diagnose problems early and prevent hazards before they worsen.
